Workshop objectives

How do we prove the impact of our practice on progress and engagement?

Robust marking and assessment procedures are an integral part of outstanding practice, and consistent practice is vital to enable critical planning for positive outcomes. This session will explore how we can better utilise marking and assessment to achieve outstanding outcomes without creating an unmanageable workload for teachers. Participants will consider their existing practice and how they can lead development within their setting.


Core themes of the programme include:

  • The quality assurance process of marking and how to utilise existing marking policies

  • Identifying ways to support and challenge under-performance associated with marking

  • How to utilise middle leaders within the Quality Assurance process

Target Audience

Tier 2 courses are for experienced teaching staff (including HLTAs, teachers and school leaders) seeking to further their skills and knowledge of teaching practices in SEN settings, or those seeking opportunities for career progression. It is not suitable for trainee teachers.
